Limecreek is a leading Illinois Basin operator, who demonstrates responsibility, efficiency, and success for its’ owners.
The Illinois Basin offers compelling costs benefits when compared to other US basins. With 19 productive sandstone and limestone reservoirs located between 1,000 feet and 4,500 feet, the Illinois basin produces approximately 32,000 bbl, per day. Operators in the Illinois basin have multiple economical advantages compared to other basins, including 100% of the production can be achieved with vertical wellbores, therefore decreasing development, completion, and lifting costs. Water, which is a major concern in most other basins, is readily available and can be disposed of or injected into depleted reservoirs, increasing secondary recovery through waterflooding. Since 2012, a rapid increase and inflow of new capital has been invested in the Illinois basin. This is mainly attributed to the application of hydraulic completion technologies used to develop previous uneconomical limestone reservoirs. For operators like Limecreek Energy, this has opened up vast new opportunities for viable production on existing leaseholds.
